Last 2 For May

Here are 2 more layouts that I finished this month.

Title: You Make Me Smile

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Storytime papers, diecutes, & stickers, Prima clear stamps, Sassa sticker alpha, DCWV rubon stitches, Petaloo flowers, Colorbox ink, Misc paper ricrac

This one I got inspiration from a layout by Mitchell Kraft in CK Scrapbook Hall of Fame. I saw it with the same title as I had in mind - "SLUMBER". And so I got the idea how to present my title.

Title: Peaceful Slumber

Supplies: Scrapworks papers, Provocraft ribbon, ricrac & stickers (baby), BG sticker alpha, AAS tiles, Misc meshm buttons & ricrac, AC thickers, HS alpha, Fashion House crochet flowers, Ranger crackle paint, Daisy ds rubon tape, MR round chipboard.

No journaling for these two.

Thanks for looking!

The Good Stuff

It was a busy day for me today. Very early in the day, I was running around the house teaching my new helper what to do and what not to do. And after, I was already rushing to leave for the shoe factory but something stopped me.

I stood there staring at it for a good 20 minutes thinking whether to go on and rush out the door or stay and take a peek. And then I just realized -- of all the days of the week, this had to arrive today, a Saturday, my DH is at home just hangin' and can easily snoop at what's inside.

But he was a good boy my husband. I came back home in the afternoon finding the box still intact. Fantastic. Now comes the good part. I always did believe in delayed gratification. Here's the good stuff.

It's been so long that I had forgotten what's inside. Where did all these clear stamps and inks come from?!?!?!?! But needless to say, I was very delighted to see them all!

Not So Old Family Pics

I've been staying at home for the last week or so because Jao's yaya left. I have a new one that just came in but I still felt that I had to stay home and "supervise".

And so wanting to make my time at home useful, I decided to do a little cleaning. I took out my parents' box of old pictures that needed sorting. And right away I found a couple that needed to be scrapped. Before I knew it, I was already scrapping. In short, the the box of old pictures went back in the drawaer, still unsorted.

Here are the 2 layouts. And I just realized, there's no difference between the 2 pages! Pardon the lack of variety.

What A Great Day!

Today was Scrapfest 5. The event was a huge hit! I think it was even more successful than the one I attended in October 2007. Congratulations Scrappin' Moms!

Aside from the overwhelming scrap goodies for sale, there were tons of challenge and raffle prizes at stake. I particularly had my eye on the Canon Selphy photo printer. I had been wanting to buy a new printer but had to refrain from getting one hoping that I would win it in the raffle.

Hmm hmm... guess what? I won it! Yep, I got it. But not because of the raffle. It's because of this!

This was my entry to the Scrapfest Newbie Challenge! I won! Yahoo! Honestly, I never thought in a gazillion years that I would win in a scrap challenge.

Title: Play Adventure
Journaling: You are at that age where you are very curious. And I love watching you spend everyday like an adventure.

Materials: Scrapfest Challenge Kit (sorry, I didn't take note of the brands), Fancy Pants felt shapes, Ranger Distress Ink, Maya Road journaling sheers, Marvy pen, journaling pen, misc corrugated paper (for stamping), ricrac & buttons.

And there's more! Earlier in the day, I was also chosen as one of the winners of the Magnolia Ice Cream Layout Challenge! Twice in one day! Unbelievable talaga. Now, I got mega loads of ice cream to feed Jao. He deserves it!

Title: Scoops of Fun
Journaling: You're always this happy when it's ice cream time.

Materials: Basic Grey Two Scoops Kit (papers & alpha stickers), Daisy Ds rubon tape, Maya Road Journaling Sheers & Chipborad, Crystalline Tile Alpha, Fontwerks Alpha Clear Stamps, Stazon, Colorbox Chalk, Stickles, AC slick pen

So you see guys, hanging out with talented scrappers certainly pays off. And I'm going to keep doing just that. Who knows what more can happen. But really, I'm so thankful to be in the company of such gorgeous gals (you know who you are ladies).

Congratulations to all the winners and to everybody and thanks to Scrappin' Moms, Canon, Magnolia and all the sponsors for a fabulous day!

Tagged!

I was tagged by Dr. Chiqui ages and ages ago. So sorry for the delay, Chiqui. Here it is:

My Scrap Area

I started buying scrap goodies in July 2007. All I had at home was an old officetable and everything went there. Soon after, my stuff began to accumulate and everything was either scattered on the table, on top of each other, and some were already on the floor leaving me with no room to scrap.

Then in November, I thought of fixing my mom's sewing area. It's sort of a secret door with a folding/hideaway table (which was her cutting table). I just did some cleaning & painting. It's not much but it's a start.

These photos were taken way back in November. Of course, it's a lot messier now :)

Thanks for the tag, Chiqui!

Now I'm tagging Rollyn, Sandra, & Cel!

My Poor Baby

My poor Jao has the measles :( It's not the german measles but some kind of baby measles. It's called roseola or tigdas hangin and it happens to babies 6 months to 2 years.

It started with a fever the morning of May 1st and lasted till May 3rd. I felt scared at some point because his fever reached 39.5. We even brought him to the E.R. I was afraid it might be dengue. Thank goodness his urine & blood tests were normal. And the doctor was right. She said soon after his fever goes down, the rashes will come out. And so they did on Sunday.

In a way, this is good because it means he's on his way to recovery. I just feel bad for him because I'm sure he feels very itchy and uncomfortable. Hopefully he'll be up and about by the end of the week.

I want to take some pictures of him with the red spots. Would that be so mean?
