ONE!

My Jao is 1 today! Yay!

As traditional (or usual) as in most kiddie birthdays, I made spaghetti. Lola Julie, Ninang Ria and cousins Kuya Luis, Ate Nadya, & Ate Bianca came to celebrate with us. Highlights of the non-party event below.

Thanks for the gift and to Ria for Jao's yummy choco birthday cake!

Four Eyes

Yep, that's me now. I just bought my reading glasses today. I had been in denial for the past couple of months or so. I kept telling myself and everyone else that my eyes were just tired and that I didn't need glasses.

I hate glasses. I had my first pair about 20 years ago for astigmatism. It was an accessory that I didn't want on me. But now I have no choice else I won't be able to read! A friend of mine said it's inevitable when one reaches 40 (which is the new 20s btw) and so now it's here. One good thing about is I only have to wear them whenever I'm reading or looking at something at close distance.

Oh well, c'est la vie.

July Kit

Back Porch Memories has 2 kits per month - the Solo Kit & the Medley Kit. I was given the Medley which contains yummies from Bazzill, Chatterbox, KI, Cosmo Cricket, Scenic Route, American Crafts and Buttons Galore. Here's the kit:

As GDT, I am required to do at least 3 layouts & 1 project.

Title: Family
Journaling: The best part of my family are my husband and son.

Title: The Best Gift
Journaling: Your Dad & I thought we'd never have you. Then in Dec 2006, imagine our joy when we found out that you were on your way. It was definitely the best gift that year.

Title: Cute As A Button
Journaling: I cannot imagine waking up one day not seeing your cute and adorable face.

Title: On The Go
Journaling: I am amazed how active you are. You move around the house grabbing everything that catches your eye. I'm sure this is only the beginning.

"Hello" Card

I so enjoyed this kit and still have more supplies left. I think I'm going to do more.

New Baby

I got my new Canon Selphy CP740/750 today. I haven't had the chance to try it out yet. I have to read to user's manual first lest I might mess it up. I just checked the contents of the box. Everything seemed to be there including the ink & photo paper. Sadly, there are only about 6 papers that came with the package. But it's okay. Got the printer as a prize naman. :)

I hope I could give it a test drive tomorrow. Wish me luck!

P.S. My layouts are now up at Back Porch Memories Gallery. Please do check it out if you get the chance.

Almost

My Jao is almost 1! I cannot believe how fast time flies. He can walk across the room now on his own but tumbles every once in a while.

I am one proud mommy. But just thinking that he'll be able to run soon makes me tired already! Maybe it's time for me to hit the gym to prepare myself.

BTW, Back Porch is looking for their GDT for August. Check details here.

Challenge at BPM

I hosted one of the July Challenges over at Back Porch Memories. Mine is an "All Paper" challenge using only CS or PPS for everything on your page - title, embellies, journaling sheets, etc. And you can do whatever with the paper cut, tear, punch, edge, anything!

I hope you can join. Click here for challenge details and here to upload your entry.

And here's my sample LO:
